This is Gilbert “Gib” Brown - My Maternal Grandad. He was a soy bean farmer who was considered “a freak” as a farmer by his “old school” farmer neighbors. He was into crop rotation to prevent soil erosion, electric fences, and sharing his combine with neighbors. He was a college grad in agriculture.

Meet the Relatives

My Favorite Cousin-in-Law

My Favorite Cousin

Soon I will be talking about resiliencies which are inherited along with intergenerational trauma. We got both.

I had no idea that I had relatives living an hour away from me in Montana! Turns out, the Universe & my beloveds on the other side thought I should learn of their proximity! So I met the Gilbert side of my ancestors. Our first meeting - Susie hosted me for lunch with “stuffed peppers.” This was the first dish my late husband made for me on our first date thirty years prior! I also have to mention there were “mourning doves” overhead and Gus had pet love doves when I first made his acquaintance. No mistakes!
